Hotel Foglieri

I think this is the smallest hotel in the Hotel Pasini group, but it's still got everything. There was loads to choose from at breakfast, and the lunch and dinner dishes were excellent, both fish and meat, which isn't something every seaside place gets right. The one snag was figuring out all-inclusive. The meals were included, but the bar wasn't, and nobody told us that the drinks included with the package didn't apply outside the restaurant.

The food was really good, especially the fish, but dinner service felt rushed. A few times the next course was brought out before we'd finished the first, then left on the table. And if you arrived at the restaurant at 8 PM instead of 7:30, the tastiest buffet items were already gone :-( Breakfast coffee also needs work. The vending machine aside, I thought it was really poor, though everything else was very good. This was my first stay at this hotel, one of the Pasini Family Hotels trio. The kindness, friendliness, and helpfulness made it feel like home. The rooms were spotless, though the bathroom could use some work. I'm quite tall, and my knees hit the shower stall when I sat on the toilet. I'll definitely come back.

The location is excellent, just a short walk from the sea and the center of Gatteo. The rooms were clean, but the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. My partner and I had some unpleasant surprises in the food, so the restaurant wasn't great. Breakfast was plentiful and complete, except the honey was missing on our last day.
