The staff and the owner’s family were so invested in making guests happy, and that really stood out. We also loved the daily kids’ entertainment, which made our son happy and gave us parents a proper break. He especially enjoyed making traditional piadina together as a family at a nearby farm. That visit had a lovely atmosphere and a dinner I won’t forget, especially the best lasagna I’ve ever eaten. We had a week of real relaxation at Hotel Sport & Residenza. The spacious pool always had plenty of sunbeds, with no need for early towel reservations. You could walk to the private beach or take a golf cart. There was complimentary cold water there, plus coffee and ice cream to buy. We chose half board. Breakfast was typically Italian and sweet, but after we asked for vegetables, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes were ready each morning. Freshly cooked scrambled eggs were also available every day. Dinner began with a buffet, then we ordered an appetizer, main course, and dessert from the menu. The food was delicious, the coffee was the best I’ve had in a hotel, and the wine was outstanding. During a local holiday, the hotel put on a special dinner by the pool, with a huge buffet of seafood, different meats, and wonderful desserts. Thank you for such a lovely stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and found us a larger room than the one we’d reserved. The hotel itself feels dated, though, and the food was barely adequate.

We booked a one-bedroom apartment at Ricci without meals and had a great stay. The big pool was a real plus, and the beach service was great too. It’s close to local amenities, and there are lots of well-kept bikes for getting around. We tried the pool buffet and were happy with it. Some service could be better in places, including at the bar and with cleaning.

We’ve been returning to Hotel Sport in Cesenatico for more than ten years, and we’re already looking forward to next year. The Ricci family and the staff are warm and welcoming, and they speak English and German for guests who don’t speak Italian. The food is delicious, and we especially like that it’s made fresh at the hotel with fresh ingredients, rather than coming from a can. They also make an effort to be healthy and environmentally friendly. There are great facilities for children, including a lovely pool and activities during the day and evening. The hotel also organizes outings, such as a fishing boat trip and visits to the family farm.
