La Macina

They cancelled our booking just 24 hours before our flight, even though we had reserved two weeks earlier. I suspect they went with whoever offered more money, since a couple would be more profitable than a family with four children. We had to pay almost twice as much to find somewhere to stay and avoid missing our flight, at a hotel only 12 km away. They said they couldn’t do anything because they had to give the money to their sister, who had nowhere to live. Then, on our last night in Modena, the same couple they’d mentioned told me what had happened. I also found a forum post from another couple who had the same problem, except they were left with their luggage at the door. It’s shameful that Booking.com or Airbnb list people like this. La Macina di Modì put their money first and showed no compassion. I don’t recommend the experience they gave us. I hope this helps stop it happening to anyone else. Regards.

In response to La Macina, here are the details of the house listed on all those websites, where my family was treated so badly: La Macina di Modì Via Annibale Caporali 11, Cetona, 53040, Italy I’ve looked at photos of La Macina and its location, and it’s on the very same street at the very same number. The house I rented has the identical address. It would be quite a coincidence if all the houses were identical. I’ve included a photo of the place I rented and its address, which matches La Macina exactly. It’s shameful that they’re trying to blame someone else and dodge responsibility so people won’t know how they operate or what values they stand for.
