Grand Hotel San Michele

The owners, Ornella and her husband, made us feel like family from the start, and their staff looked after us throughout. We had our wedding at the Grand Hotel St. Michel, and our guests were just as taken with the place as we were. I'd first visited last February. The moment I walked in, I knew I couldn't picture getting married anywhere else. The views are wonderful, and the hotel has a classic, timeless Italian feel. Its renovated rooms are all different, and each one made me feel like I was living in a romantic Italian film. I wish five stars were the maximum. My husband and I will definitely come back for our anniversary and for years after.

The old world charm and the elegance of a place that's aged well made this stay feel special. The staff were generous and helpful, and the food was both delicious and healthy. We came for a conference and were blown away. The property is gorgeous and well kept, tucked away with a pristine private beach, and the staff are wonderfully welcoming. I'd book San Michele without hesitation for a special event. At 2:30 in the morning we arrived hungry with two exhausted toddlers. Salvatore was waiting for us, and when we checked in he asked if we'd like something to eat. He'd prepared cold plates, then brought them out in the formal dining room, beautifully set with cold cuts, greens, cheese, drinks, and dessert. We'd never had service that thoughtful. The same level of care continued through our five nights there. Top notch.

A lovely place for quiet days by the sea. Getting down to the hotel's beach by elevator was a highlight, and the food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner was amazing, with vegetables grown on the property. The staff were friendly and helpful, and staying at St Michele made for a beautiful holiday.
