The pool and bar areas were really nice, and I spent my spare time by the pool. The staff were pleasant and obliging, especially the young woman at reception and the young lad running the bar. There’s also a very good cafe opposite with amazing ice cream, tea, coffee, and alcoholic drinks. I was here in June 2025 on a Leger sightseeing tour. The location worked well for our planned trips, though nearby restaurants were a good 15 minutes away on foot. We ate dinner at the hotel, and that wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was continental, with fruit, cereal, pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, and cold meats. Tea was five courses: soup, a small pasta dish, a main that was usually meat, fish, or vegetarian, salad, and dessert. It wasn’t gourmet, but it was hot and tasty. I’d have liked a few more vegetables, my only quibble. My ground-floor room had a large double bed and a huge bathroom. It was clean and comfortable, and I was only there to sleep and wash. The shower worked. My fridge didn’t, and I don’t know whether the aircon worked since it wasn’t hot enough to try it. I think mine was one of the few rooms with a working safe, since other people on the tour said theirs were disconnected. The sockets didn’t fit my European adapter, but reception rented one for 10 Euros, refunded when I returned it. It’s a charming but rundown, typical low-budget Italian hotel.

The rooms were clean, though very cold, and the hotel looked a bit rundown. It’s not close to many useful shops. Service from the receptionist, waitress, and young male waiter in the evening was very good, but the head waiter and breakfast supervisor were rude.

The air conditioning wasn’t working in most rooms, and many guests were complaining about it. The hotel took no action to fix the problem, and the service was pathetic. There’s no ramp to get luggage down to ground level, so I had to carry heavy bags on the stairs. It was a painful experience. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever seen, certainly a 2-star place. They should close the business, or customers will eventually leave.

The rooms were basic but clean, with paper-thin walls. The hotel itself is very dated and run down, nothing like the online photos. The town is grubby too, with no bars or restaurants for days without trips or in the evenings, and there’s no entertainment at the hotel. It felt like Fawlty Towers, stuck in the 70s. The food was terrible. At dinner, there are three choices, and the rubbery omelette is always one of them. It’s made the day before, with one vegetable dish each night to go with whatever you choose. I picked cod one night and got a small piece of flat fish, only about 3mm thick. Breakfast was no better. Food kept running out, and two coffee machines had to serve more than 100 people, so getting anything felt like a fight. The one barman was okay, but restaurant staff were very grumpy. The average guest age is 75, which may be why they get away with things.

The pool was nice, but the area right around it wasn’t maintained. The only real positive was the very fast WiFi. We wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The hotel seems closer to 2 stars than 4, and as long as coach parties keep bringing guaranteed income, it doesn’t have to try. We stayed six nights on an organized coach trip. Check-in was chaotic, with only one staff member handling a group of over 40. Our luggage took a while to arrive, and I eventually found our case abandoned in a corridor. Rooms were dated but functional and clean, with a safe and fridge but no tea or coffee maker. The bar didn’t take cash, so you ran up a tab for the stay. The air conditioning seemed to do its own thing until we learned that management regularly turned off the hotel-wide master switch behind reception. Dinner on our first night was bland, plain, and dry, so we ate out for the rest of the stay. More people in our party made the same choice. Another coach party arrived from Holland during our stay.
