Chianni is only 3 km away, a quick drive, with a charming center, small restaurants and bars, and a little general store. We spent three nights here in August with our children. The house is tucked away along a gravel road, well away from the main road. Ilaria was exceptionally warm and friendly, and responded thoughtfully right away whenever we had a question or concern. The saltwater pool was the highlight of the small property. Our two-room apartment had plenty of space, and the windows all have thin mosquito screens, so sleeping with them open at night was easy. The kitchen is rather basic.

A perfect spot if you need a break. It’s a magical, authentic place to recharge, and the hostess is a gem. She speaks wonderful French, which is a real help if, like me, you don’t speak Italian.

A lovely farmhouse in the Tuscan countryside, with a beautiful pool for guests. It’s just a short walk from the major art cities. Definitely worth trying!

San Gimignano is a real gem, and there’s Lucca and more besides. The location also makes it easy to reach several historic cities: Volterra is 22 km away, Pisa 40 km, and Livorno 39 km. Florence takes less than an hour by car.

There’s a swimming pool right by the greenery, and the setting is great for relaxing walks. Up on a hill, it has a rustic, welcoming Tuscan panorama.
