B&B La Terrazza

We had breakfast on the terrace, where Mrs. Silvana’s care really showed. She even provided soy milk to suit our needs, and the homemade jams were excellent. There was a good range of sweet and savory food, including focaccia. Mrs. Silvana and her husband welcomed my wife, our little dog Nuovola, and me into their home for the May 1st weekend, and made us feel at home. Our first visit to Chiavari was a pleasant surprise. The location is excellent, right in the center near shops and restaurants, close to the sea, with parking nearby. Although the room is in the historic center, it was very soundproofed, and we heard nothing with the windows shut. It also had a minibar and a kettle with tea and herbal teas. The B&B is on the third floor, with an elevator, and just 100 meters from one of Chiavari’s few free parking lots. It’s centrally located. We booked at the last minute, and the lady was kind from the very first phone call. The rooms have a slightly old-fashioned, bourgeois look, but they were clean and air conditioned.

We didn’t try the breakfast, but the street outside has plenty of sweet pastries and focaccia, and it’s also the shopping street. Silvana welcomed us personally and pointed out the city’s main spots just as we were looking for somewhere to eat. We had four wonderfully comfortable nights at her B&B, with a good bed and air conditioning that was much needed in summer. The bathroom is small but works well, and there’s a mini-fridge for water. Silvana also arranged reasonably priced, guarded indoor parking for us, about a 10-minute walk away. We’d come back if we’re in the area again.

The hosts were genuinely kind, and breakfast was generous and tasty, with quality ingredients and lots of focaccia. The room was on the small side but clean and very well cared for, with air conditioning. For the price, it was excellent value. The B&B is right in the city center, close to the train station, beach, and plenty of other amenities.
