Hotel Monte Rosa

Be sure to book a parking spot ahead if you're driving. We loved our recent stay at Hotel Monte Rosa. The breakfast stood out for how well organized it was, especially the fresh fruit in small individual glass jars, which felt hygienic and was easy to take. The hotel is a genuine 4-star place, not huge, but it has what you'd expect and everything works smoothly. The pool is open all day, the bar serves drinks until 11 PM, the gym is clean and well equipped, and the parking attendant was always ready to help. The setting is lovely too: a picturesque Italian lane with cobblestones, warm-colored buildings and classic clotheslines between them, plus a view of the church down the street. Opening our windows to locals zipping by on colorful scooters was a treat. The town felt authentic, with more locals than tourists, and everyone was friendly, smiling and saying hello.

We spent the weekend at this recently renovated hotel. The rooms had been renovated too, and the pool was great. We happened to be there for a dinner with live jazz at the Terrazza, which was one of the highlights of our trip. Well done, Monte Rosa team!

Right in the pedestrian zone, yet quiet and relaxing, with an incredible pool area. It's a wonderful hotel in central Chiavari, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I'd recommend reserving a spot early at the lovely private beach area Duna Beach. It's worth it, especially with children, but also just for relaxing. Very clean and pleasant. We'll be back.

The food was wonderful in both quality and presentation, and the dinner mezza pensione deal when booking is great value. Breakfast was amazing, with hot dishes as well as the usual continental choices, and gluten-free options too. There are lots of thoughtful little extras in the room and around the pool. The best part, though, was the staff. Massimo, the reception manager, and his very attentive, accommodating colleagues, Luca, who manages the dining area, and his courteous team, plus the maids, maintenance workers, and shuttle driver all went above and beyond with courtesy and professionalism. Bravissimi, all I can say is thank you so much for all the care you showed me and for meeting my needs. I've never had this kind of service at any other hotel, and I've traveled a lot. I truly appreciated it and will return. 💜
