Hotel Europeo

We stayed five days and the sheets were changed just once. The room was dirty and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. Breakfast was identical each day, with scrambled eggs, croissants, muesli, and fruit, so after three days or more you keep eating the same things. Parking isn't beside the hotel, and each time you need the car you have to walk over, collect the key, then return it. I can't recommend it. The price doesn't fit the quality.

Breakfast had lots of tasty choices and a wide variety. The main problem in the room was the lack of a refrigerator. Also, the group of three or four cleaners need to be quieter, since guests might be resting or on an important call. The hotel's strongest point is how close it is to the beach. The beaches are beautiful, and sunrise there was amazing, an unforgettable experience. Its other plus is a private, locked parking lot about 40-50 meters away, around a two-minute drive. When I couldn't find a space on arrival, I parked in front of the house opposite. The owner came out and kindly told me not to worry. The residents there are very nice. We had a bad scare at 5 AM when the fire alarm suddenly started blaring. Many guests didn't know the alarm or what to do. Parents with little kids ran down the stairs from the fifth and sixth floors because the elevator couldn't be used. I later heard unofficially that it was a false alarm, but the hotel management neither apologized nor explained what had happened.

Breakfast was the highlight for us, with eggs made to order, a great yogurt bar, and a high-end coffee machine that could make all sorts of drinks. I loved the macchiato! The double room was unusually spacious for an Italian hotel and very clean, with nice linens and a full bathroom counter. The hotel also lent us bicycles, perfect for an evening ride by the beach and along the canals to the many restaurants. We found this place at the last minute on our way to Venice, and both the hotel and the lovely town were a great surprise. Brava to our hosts!

The beds were squeezed into a rather small room and didn't seem especially new or clean. There's no fridge, though there is a safe. Staff didn't speak English, only Italian and a little German, but they were friendly and helpful. The rooms otherwise were quite nice, and the bathroom was spacious and looked newly renovated. For the price, the location and time of year were very good value. The beach is just down the street and lovely, though it felt quite crowded for its size even on a weekday.
