Hotel Miramare

The pictures of the rooms on the hotel website look far better than what we found in person. Ours felt like a broom cupboard, and to open the balcony door or reach the wardrobe we had to move the luggage stand out of the way. There was barely room to use the shower and toilet separately. These were the smallest rooms I've ever seen. I wouldn't recommend it.

The so-called family room for four was really a tiny room for a couple with a bunk bed squeezed in, and the AC barely worked. The pool issue was even worse. It was advertised as a room feature, but only after we'd checked in and paid for the entire stay did we learn it was closed because of Coronavirus. They then pointed us to Piscina Astoria across the street, where it would cost 10 to 15 Euros per person each day. When I questioned this, the manager challenged me to show where the website said the room included pool access. I did, and she said I'd Googled it in English. I switched to Italian, and she told me to let her know if I wanted to check out so she could list the room as available. I left. That was awful customer service. After seeing the rude reply, I wanted to add that we went to another hotel further north and had a great time, with a great beach, a great pool and excellent service. If negative ratings were possible, this would get minus 5 stars from me.

We left within a few hours. The room was small, the air conditioning was bad, and the pool shown as included was closed. The customer service was poor too. After seeing the reply below and the rude response to my wife, we laughed and decided to report the hotel to Google. Be careful, traveler. The complaints seem to follow a pattern, small rooms, no pool, terrible AC and bad service, followed by long replies that deny things and blame customers. The pool is the first thing on the Italian website, which Google translates live into English, so yes, we read it there. And the rain, jajajaja, was not the reason we left. We drove just a few miles up the road and spent the weekend at another hotel that actually had what it advertised and was worth the price, along with the money we paid here for a night we didn't use. ciao

The hotel is right along lungo mare, which makes it easy to get places. It's a great stay with kids too, since they have a whole room just for children.
