The owners were so warm and courteous that I’d happily come back. The hotel itself is a little dated, but my room was comfortable, very clean, and well looked after. It’s right in the center of Chiusi, with shops, bars, and restaurants along a pleasant street, and the Chiusi/Chianciano Terme train station is close enough to make an evening arrival easy.

I paid €36 a night without breakfast, and the room still felt like a nightmare hotel. The shower had no curtain, the showerhead was broken, and barely any water came out. The sink, toilet, and bidet were squeezed into a tiny space. The room looked straight out of the 1970s. I’ve no complaint about the managers themselves, just those small-town people still working away despite being quite old. But in the cold December weather, the only radiator quit at 11 PM. I really did sleep wearing a scarf.

For the price, this is excellent value. The older couple welcomed us very warmly and offered right away to put our bikes inside. The room looked dated, but it was clean and everything worked.

If you’re passing through Chiusi Scalo, this is an easy place to stop, especially with the train station so close. The welcome and courtesy really stood out, and they make you feel at home. I almost forgot to mention how friendly everyone was. Give it a try, trust me.
