The tagliatelle were delicious, and the two meat dishes were good. The tagliata was tender and well prepared, and the pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and truffled Taleggio was another bright spot. But those dishes couldn't make up for the rest of the meal or the way we were treated. We took half a portion of the pizzoccheri home, and the next morning my mother threw it away because it smelled sour and she thought it was old. We finished the tagliatelle and the two meats, and there was no waste. We also took half a portion home after asking the young woman if she could pack it. She said she'd check whether the kitchen had containers. The pizzoccheri were bland, with hardly any vegetables beyond a few bits of chard and very little cheese. They felt rushed and made without care, and I found them an insult to the original dish. The pizza was a thin, limp disc, not crisp, and the mozzarella seemed strange. It barely felt like pizza. The bill was another awful part of the evening. The woman was so absorbed in talking to other people that she made us feel like an annoyance, as if we were bothering her or begging. There were four of us, and we only asked to split the bill in two, not among 90 people. She refused, saying the sign stated separate bills weren't allowed and that the total divided by four was such and such. But we had to pay as two couples, so she ended up making two bills anyway. She didn't calculate them. I had to work it out on my phone while she looked at us like we were a nuisance. When we said we'd pay by debit card, she didn't say anything to the first couple, but told the second, "Well, it always ends like this, though." A really elegant way to treat customers, congratulations. I don't know where the confidence to treat people badly comes from. Customers are what keep a place going, and €130 felt far too generous for an evening like that. It was an embarrassing experience from beginning to end, and we have no desire to return. In response to yours, I didn't say there wasn't enough mozzarella, I said it was weird. People in Italy are free to express themselves, and I'm sharing how uncomfortable I felt. I don't want to lecture you on your job, but customers should be treated with a little respect. I know not everyone agrees with me, but it might just have been a bad night. Unfortunately, I was there, so I'm leaving my honest opinion. Have a good day.

We enjoyed good typical local food in a rustic, welcoming place. It's in a nice spot near a small gorge, with a pleasant walk nearby.

The staff were warm and welcoming, even though we showed up for lunch at about 2:15 PM without a reservation or warning. The kitchen was about to close, but they still made us some excellent dishes. The house dessert was excellent too. They deserve six stars!

We had a family lunch at Hostaria da Edo in Civate for the first time today. Everything was delicious, and the prices felt fair for the dishes. We ordered pizzoccheri, tagliolini with wild boar ragù, wild boar, Milanese cutlet with roast potatoes, taragna with porcini mushrooms, tiramisu and "funghetto tra la la," followed by coffee and limoncello. We'll definitely come back.
