Orsone

We went to Orsone twice, and both meals stayed with us. My husband still calls the pea-based dessert the best he's ever had. The menus are inventive and delicious, with unexpected combinations that are fun to leave in the chefs' hands. Wine choices cover local bottles as well as plenty from elsewhere. Service was outstanding, and the price was very good for the quality. We'd happily return.

We celebrated our youngest son's wedding at Orsone in Sept 23, with guests visiting from all over the world. Everyone was impressed by the setting, food, and service. The reception began at 13.00 with an outdoor aperitivo and carried on past midnight. Food came both as courses at the table and small plates brought around on trays to guests dancing or chatting outside. The chef was visible while cooking and also arranged an excellent menu for guests with food intolerances. There were plenty of team members, and they were attentive without getting in the way. It's a warm, welcoming place, all on one floor with no architectural barriers. The menu has plenty of variety, and the meat is excellent, especially cooked in the Josper barbecue. I don't really agree with the combinations, like a cheeseburger with Montasio cheese. The beers are great, the wine list is good, the American aperitif is top-notch, and the desserts are pretty good too. The open kitchen is spotless and tidy. Staff are young and friendly, though maybe a little affected. They make an effort with children, even if it's not really a place for them unless you sit outside in good weather. They used to bring Heinz sauces in glass jars, but now it's a cheaper house mix, which I don't like. Prices have also crept up a bit. I'll definitely come back.

Really lovely food. I like the place and the people there.
