Hotel Stambecco

We won't forget the smell of fresh pastries greeting us when we opened our room door, or how kind and helpful the owners were. The hotel is right in the center but still very quiet. Our room was spacious enough for all five of us, spotless every day, and very well soundproofed. The bathroom was big and pristine too. They were helpful from our first contact before we got to Cogne, with good advice about every detail. Our daughter's birthday came during the stay, so we asked if the lady might make one of her cakes we'd heard about. They did, and it was delicious. They also gave it to her as a special birthday present. They were so affectionate and patient with the kids, who loved all the attention. Breakfast was wonderful, with their homemade cakes and lots of high quality sweet and savory choices. Parking on site was easy, and they insisted on helping with our bags. The room had a great TV. Everything made for an unforgettable stay. Thank you so much from all of us.

Don't follow the GPS directions to get there. Head toward the campsite and turn left where it's signposted. It's a quiet place at a reasonable price, a little outside town. Cogne is small, though, so the walk is worth it. The owners are friendly, and the rooms and facilities are okay.

The welcome was warm and friendly, and breakfast was excellent. It's a shame the hotel doesn't offer lunch or dinner. I'd definitely recommend it.
