Hotel Vallee De Cogne

We spent a weekend in Cogne for ice climbing. The hotel was nice and comfortable, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast set us up perfectly for a full day in the mountains. I recommend this hotel.

Just a five minute walk from the center, and the staff were very helpful. The room was clean and a good size.

It’s 2PM and I’m writing this because I’ve never slept in a worse hotel. The beds were so uncomfortable I couldn’t get any sleep.

My husband and I wanted a real snowy winter experience over New Year 2026, so we spontaneously decided to go to Italy. I hadn’t seen snow in Belgium since 2010. On Booking, the hotels we would have preferred were no longer available, the ones with a fridge, kettle, and high ceilings. This was the only place with availability, so I booked a room with an extra charge, a balcony, and mountain views. When we arrived, they gave us a room with a balcony and a beautiful view of the mountains. But there was a smell coming from the drain, so the staff kindly offered to move us. Our new room is on the side of the building and has no mountain view. Two nights have passed, and unfortunately we still haven’t been able to enjoy the view from the window. The rooms are impeccably clean and very spacious, though. The striped wallpaper, very 1990s, makes the room look taller. The furniture is excellent quality natural wood. The only thing is the bed is a little noisy. Breakfast is included in the price. It’s simple but adequate. The hotel restaurant opens in the evening, with traditional Italian dishes. Portions are generous, and everything is very good, clearly made with care and passion. The hotel staff, especially the restaurant team, are extremely kind, helpful, and attentive to guests’ needs. It was also lovely to find that everyone speaks French, which made us feel at ease right away. We feel at home here, warm, welcome, and safe. Cogne is a small but lively village, with lots of cafés and restaurants, and many tourists cross country skiing on the perfectly groomed trails. The air is so fresh it can make your head spin, and it makes you want to sleep all the time. 🤤
