I waited at the house for 20 minutes in the heat with my pregnant wife, knocking more than 10 times, but nobody came. My low, new car couldn't make it up the road because it was full of holes, and I didn't want to risk damaging it. With the abandoned houses around, the place felt like something out of a horror movie. We had to leave and look for another hotel, and went to more than 10 because everywhere was full. Because of this, we didn't have dinner until 23:30.

The rooms, service, and location were good, so I came away with a positive impression. Some parts of the building, inside and out, could use a rethink.

We were there as a couple with our daughter and two dogs. Our room had its own entrance and was quiet and private. The owner was friendly and shared advice on getting around, plus restaurant suggestions where we could eat quality local products. Breakfast needs some work.

Casa Kiwi sits 1km above Cogorno in a peaceful spot with breathtaking views, and it's a great base for exploring the Gulf of Tigullio. Gianni was a wonderful host, always attentive and happy to help, with useful ideas about places to go, things to see, and where to eat. He added a lot to our holiday. Highly recommended.

Gianni does all he can to make you feel at home and have a wonderful stay, with really useful suggestions for restaurants, beach clubs, and places to visit. It was my first time in the area, and his tips helped a lot. I spent a weekend here in August, and this is easily an excellent B&B. It's a beautiful place with a fantastic location just a short distance from the sea, and the breakfast was excellent too.
