We were grateful for the clean apartment and premises, the quiet location away from the tourist crowds, and the beautiful view from apartment Boe at Residence Mirabell. We stayed there with our 11-month-old baby. A restaurant was close by, and the bus station was easy to reach. There was plenty of room for our bikes, and we could order fresh bread and bakery items for breakfast, delivered right to the room. We also appreciated that there was no extra charge for the baby. The apartment did have some downsides. The kitchen lacked basics like a grater and whisk, which we had to buy, and it would have helped to have dish soap and a sponge. An oven or at least a microwave would be a useful addition. The lighting was weak, so the place felt dim, and the finishes seemed a bit dated. The linoleum in the kitchen and living area and the small, somewhat uncomfortable couch took away from the comfort. There were plenty of good things about our stay, but improvements to the kitchen and finishes would make a real difference. It felt a bit overvalued.

We had a ground-floor room by the exit. It looked small at first, but there was plenty of storage, and daily housekeeping was a nice touch. We also had a dedicated parking space on site. The owners were lovely and did their best to meet our needs. When we had to leave very early, they offered to leave breakfast in our room the night before. We spoke English without any problem. This is a family-run place with both rooms and apartments. Breakfast is included with the rooms, while apartment guests can buy breakfast or order fresh bread each morning. Breakfast starts at 8 am. The ski room has heated boot holders and is conveniently just around the corner from the slope, about a 50-meter walk. This was our first ski trip without a kitchen because everything was booked by the time we started looking, but we didn’t miss having one as much as we expected. Breakfast was good, and there’s a restaurant literally next door.

It’s a perfect base for skiing. The rooms are lovely and clean, and breakfast offers a wide selection of good regional food. Everyone at Residence Mirabell was welcoming and kind. We’d gladly return.

Even with COVID, Maddalena put together a lovely breakfast every morning, taking care over both safety and food quality. She was a fantastic host, happy to chat or share recommendations when you wanted. And she makes a homemade cake every day. What more could you ask for?

We stayed for a week in summer 2014 during the maratona dles dolomites week, and this family guest house made a great base. The apartments have fabulous mountain views. We liked it enough to book another stay for summer 2015. Highly recommended.
