We weren’t staying at the hotel, just came to its restaurant for a celebration dinner, and it turned out to be a delight. My partner and I shared a truffle egg dish, seafood starter, perch and veal mains, then tiramisu and pistachio desserts. Everything was top quality, in a great location, and I couldn’t find fault with anything. The wine and coffee were excellent as well, and the service was friendly, professional and very efficient. Highly recommended!

The meal itself was good, as were the wine, but the waiter made dinner with my wife pretty unpleasant. We asked for a half bottle because we had to drive home, and he repeatedly suggested we were just trying to go cheap or couldn’t afford a full bottle. He also told us what wines we could order since they only had a few from the menu available. We wanted to share a starter and got the same implication about not being able to afford two plates. Then I ordered vegetarian ravioli but was served ravioli with anchovies. I should have said I was vegetarian, but I thought ordering a vegetarian dish from the menu was enough. I only noticed after eating one raviolo, when it tasted fishy, and let my wife finish it because I didn’t want to deal with that waiter. He’d already been rude and yelled across the restaurant at the other waiter. When he asked if the food was good, I said yes, but mentioned fish should be listed if it’s in a dish. I hadn’t yet realized he’d sent the wrong order to the kitchen. He offered to show me the menu saying it had fish, but never actually got it. My wife asked to see the menu later to check if I’d misread it. The waiter brought the wrong dish, then argued with her, insisting I’d ordered it. We’re Italian and live here, we’re not tourists. I just don’t like writing in Italian.

The setting and ambience were good, and the food was tasty, especially the prawn starter. The whole visit was still spoiled by the waiter’s abrupt, arrogant attitude. There were only 4-5 bottles of white wine to choose from. Maybe he was having a bad day, but it shouldn’t affect the customers.

Great atmosphere and setting, with friendly staff and delicious food, much of it locally sourced. I had the lake char.
