Molino Maufet

“Un Molino Pieno di Magia” This young, lovely and brave family deserves so much respect and appreciation. With their own hands, they’ve brought something unique back to the community and revived memories of the past, showing us how simple life once was. You wake up early, stop by the nearby "Latteria" for fresh milk and delicious "Panna cotta," then head to the local store for fresh Ciabatta. Say "Buon Giorno" to the neighbors, come back and enjoy your coffee. Give it a try, but be careful, it can get addictive :))

What an amazing place.

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, we held our wedding at Molino Maufet. It was an intimate, personal ceremony, and everything felt just right. My wife and I love literature, especially great poetry, and discovering that Claudia and Lorenzo share that passion made meeting them feel all the more meaningful. Certain encounters really don’t seem like coincidence. Dear Claudia and Lorenzo, we’re immensely grateful for everything. The whole welcome won us over. We stayed at "Le Macine," where the enchanting lake view felt like a warm embrace. The other guests found the lovingly furnished apartments a lovely surprise, and the wonderful brunch for the whole group was an absolute treat. Credit to "Il Buongustaio" in Colico! The ceremony itself was staged with romantic elegance, both outside beneath a lit pergola and inside under a delightful stone vault. Claudia and Lorenzo, the heart and soul of this place, brought it back from rubble through their passionate work and did everything they could to give us the best. They also chose an excellent organizing service, MamaEventi di Cinzia Capelli, which in turn brought in extraordinary catering from the "La Volta" restaurant in Chiesa in Valmalenco. Caring, sincere people naturally seem to find each other. I’m taking my time writing this, getting comfortable to do it properly. Time is becoming a rare thing when we’re surrounded by so much futility, background noise and nonsense that seems essential. Molino Maufet is already a place of the FAI's heart, and now it’s a place of OUR heart too.

The old mill has been turned into a collection of lovely, roomy homes, and each one has its own character. Inside, they’re comfortable and furnished with good taste. Outside, the garden is beautiful and peaceful, with two grills. The one in the barn is reserved for that house, which also has a lovely outdoor table beneath a pretty patio. It’s a magical spot for enjoying some quiet.
