Luna del Colle B&B

The homemade jam tasting at breakfast was the highlight: cranberries, pomegranate, figs and cocoa, melon, orange, apricots, and more. Such a lovely variety, and Carmen even arranged lactose-free products when we asked. Ettore’s coffee was superb too. We spent two nights here at the end of June with friends for a relaxing break. The house sits in a beautiful valley, and its carefully tended garden is a peaceful place to unwind. The hosts, signora Carmen and signor Ettore, were lovely and ready to help whenever needed. Our room was nicely decorated, very clean, and thoughtfully equipped, including extra shelves for toiletries. The bathroom was spotless, and the shower gel is made with biological components. The mattress was very comfortable, and we could open the upper window to look at the stars. There was a mosquito net, though fortunately we didn’t encounter any mosquitoes. The common living room has stylish furnishings and details, plus a magnificent library where you can read while taking in the view over the valley. The cleanliness throughout was above and beyond. We’ll definitely be back for a peaceful weekend, highly recommended!

The breakfast was a real highlight. There were yogurts, fruit, homemade jams, biscuits, bread, pastries, juice, meat, and cheese. Carmen noticed that we preferred savory food, so she made eggs however we wanted and brought out more meat and cheese. Tea and an espresso machine were always available, and Carmen or her husband would make us a cappuccino or americano if we wanted one. When we left early on our last morning, Carmen packed food for us to take to the airport. We stayed at Luna del Colle in July, and Carmen was attentive throughout, always checking that we were comfortable. The B&B sits on a mountain with lovely views of Santa Maria Hoe. Down the mountain, a short drive away, there’s a small community with restaurants, a cafe, and a shop. We had a rental car, and Carmen gave us a spot in their private garage. It was a quiet, secluded area, while most places we visited were about a 20-minute drive away. The room was spacious and stylish, and the B&B felt modern, clean, and high quality. It was cleaned and the sheets were changed every day. After dinner one evening, Carmen brought us homemade digestive liqueur made with handpicked gentian flowers from the mountain, along with a jug of ice-cold water for our room. It was a perfect experience. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday in a scenic, authentic little Italian town that isn’t overrun with tourists. Carmen, thanks so much for everything!

The view was incredible, the breakfast was amazing, and the rooms were excellent. Carmen and her husband made us feel so cared for with their kindness. We had a fantastic time, thank you very much!

A nice location, comfortable and clean, and the welcome and hospitality from Carmen and Ettore were more than that. In my 35 years of travelling, this is one of my top 3 B&B places. Highly recommendable.
