Arnolfo B&B

The location worked perfectly for the Via Francigena, and the room was convenient. We had a great stay and enjoyed the breakfast.

A lovely place, with quirky levels all over. My room had two floors, with a spacious bathroom downstairs and marble steps leading up to the bedroom. There was a queen bed, an exposed brick arch, a window overlooking the garden, and a comfy chair with a reading lamp. The brickwork gives it an authentic feel, and the room almost seemed like an apartment. Getting in meant using five keys at different points, from the top above the bridge, partway down the ramp, and finally at the bottom by the beautiful garden. Breakfast was a feast: eggs, cereal, yogurt, pain au chocolate, espresso, melon, tart, granola, and plenty more.

Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the owners were extremely kind. They gave us helpful recommendations. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, with lovely views over the old town and Tuscan countryside. The renovated historic building is in a great spot right by the entrance to the old quarter. The instant hot water was my favorite part. It’s a standard room with a private bathroom in a renovated 13th or 14th century building, with the reception entrance on an upper floor reached from the bridge. It’s a good place to rest for a night while walking the VIA Francigena. There aren’t breakfast spots nearby, but the b&b serves breakfast for 5 euros. Plenty of other B&Bs here don’t serve it at all.
