Villa Cattleya

The balcony views are stunning, and the apartments are very nice for the price. Friendly staff, too. It's a great base between beautiful Cefalu and lively Palermo, though you really need a car. The staircase isn't suitable for small children.

The room, garden, and view are nice. Some of the smaller details are annoying or feel cheap, but at this low price it's a good deal if you're okay putting up with that.

The owner was very rude. He wouldn't let us book a night at the villa because he accused us of causing trouble due to our barely legal age, without even giving us a chance to speak. His exact words were, “Forget it.”

That balcony upstairs was hard to leave. The sea view is so peaceful, with that unmistakably Sicilian scenery, and I kept wanting to look at it again. Out back, there’s a tidy little garden to relax in, plus handy parking if you arrive by car. The landscape around the villa is beautiful, and everything felt clean and thoughtfully laid out. We were made to feel welcome from the start. We got clear directions, a walkthrough of how things worked, and answers to all our questions. The hosts were attentive and offered to bring anything we might be missing. The two-story villa itself is lovely, comfortable, and well kept. The owners also have a restaurant, though we didn’t get a chance to eat there this time. I’d like to try it on a return visit. It’s a place I’d happily come back to and recommend for its comfort and Sicilian feel.
