Camping Ancora

The location and surroundings are amazing, and the place itself is cute, but this was the worst managed campsite I've seen in 30 years of camping holidays. We stayed in a tent during Ferragosto week, and it was overcrowded. Even with roughly 1 toilet per 50 guests, the managers kept accepting more people. The old toilets and showers were covered in mold and old dirt, and staff didn't clean often enough to meet basic hygiene standards. Guests ended up relieving themselves around other people's pitches. There were too many untrained dogs, stressed and barking at each other, with no facilities to clean up after them. Dogs were also relieving themselves close to pitches. Staff seemed to ignore the smell and the pee from people and dogs everywhere. I felt sick from the stench and had to leave a day early. Reception ignored my complaint, and I couldn't get a refund for the unused day despite the hygienic conditions. If the hygiene office knew, they would definitely shut the place down.

The staff were kind and helpful, the only real positive. We paid 42€ for one night for a pitch with a small car, which felt far too expensive. After a long day of travel we needed sleep, but some kind of party at the campsite kept us awake until 1AM. The showers and toilets were dirty and poorly maintained. It definitely wasn't worth the price. Norwegian campsites cost half as much and offer much better service.

A great campsite near the beach, with most tent pitches shaded by trees, a good price, and activities for kids. The toilets could be better, but the food, especially the pizza, is extremely good.

For a caravan with 4 people, €47 is a great price given that the campsite is right by the beach. The market is well stocked. Still, it's too crowded and noisy for me.
