In the centre of Comacchio, this is a wonderful restaurant for trying Italian dishes, especially if you’re into fish. One of the best here.

If you’re in Comacchio, La Locanda la Comacina is a must, but book a table outside on the boat. The dessert called (Passagiata del Valle) was incredible, and the appetizer of radicchio rolls filled with gambettas was amazing too. We also loved the beef filet in pepper sauce and the gnocchi with shrimps. Comacchio itself is one of Italy’s most impressive hidden pearls.

Lunch on the boat was lovely, and the grilled eel with polenta was fantastic. I also really enjoyed the Ichnusa beer and local rose wine. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. This is one of my favorite experiences in Italy. Thank you 🙏

We visited with our children and dog, and they were all accommodated. The food was delicious, with typical local dishes.

We went back four times and really enjoyed the atmosphere, with jazz playing in the dining room. The service was attentive, and the menu includes excellent local dishes from commacchio as well as Italian meat and fish specialties. The Fritto misto and grilled fish were especially delicious, and the meat dishes were excellent too. We’ll definitely return next time.
