For a day out, you can picnic with friends or family, then head to the highest part of Como for a great panorama of the lake and the surrounding area. Another good idea is to buy a ferry ticket, online or in person from one of the Kiosk, and travel to nearby villages or cities. Give it a try, trust me, and have a good dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

The cathedral is nice, but I didn't find the town especially charming compared with other Italian cities, and the lake felt much like plenty of others. For me, it's somewhere to visit, look around, and tick off the map.

I can confirm what earlier reviews said about the disrespectful, unprofessional treatment. The voucher showed that the reservation covered my whole family, but the host claimed it didn't and asked for another 500 euros. We'd just come off a long flight and were exhausted. The communication was very bad, and I agreed to pay because of the situation. First he asked me to send a picture of my credit card, then later changed his mind and said it had to be cash, or we wouldn't be allowed to check in. I booked a nearby hotel instead, where guests were treated with respect.

The food was one of the things I remember most, with local dishes full of authentic Italian flavor. Having espresso by the lake while taking in the view was hard to beat. Como itself feels like a painting, with mountains around the blue water and historic buildings along the shore. As I walked its narrow streets, the mix of culture and history made me feel transported back in time. The detailed Renaissance architecture reflects the area's rich heritage. It was an emotional trip where nature and culture came together, and I left with memories I'll hold onto.
