Metropole Suisse Hotel

We went in November 2025 and found the hotel very comfortable. Our Classic Room No. 71 was clean and spacious, had plenty of storage, and even looked out toward the lake and mountains despite being described as a no-lake-view room. There wasn’t a USB charging port. When I asked at reception where to buy an adapter, the young lady kindly offered to lend us a charger and adapter. It didn’t work for our needs, but the offer was thoughtful. The bathroom was large and clean, and the front desk staff were lovely. I think we met Farah and Al Fin, who were both helpful, professional, and friendly. We had to check out around 4 am for the 5:19 am train, and Al Fin offered us coffee from the restaurant several times. The location is hard to beat: right on the lake, a few steps from the ferries and ticket office, and near plenty of restaurants. Como Lago station is about a five-minute walk and Como San Giovanni around ten minutes. There’s a bank with ATMs next door, bus stops nearby, and the Duomo and shopping area are within five minutes on foot. Breakfast downstairs was excellent, with breads, cheeses, croissants, pastries, milk, coffee, fruit, meat, and the usual continental options like eggs and potatoes. I have limited experience, but it seemed like a typical Italian spread. I heard the hotel closes from mid-December to early February, so check before making plans. I’d highly recommend staying here.
