Volta 38 made our family stay easy. We booked two adjoining rooms with an internal door, and there was plenty of space for us and both children. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the cleanest of all the apartments we stayed in during Italy, and well equipped. We were close to the main square but far enough away to avoid the noise. We had looked for clean rooms, comfortable beds, a good shower and bathroom, and a quiet setting. Volta 38 exceeded our expectations on all of that. Wish we could have stayed longer.

For what we paid per night, being told to “play around with the door” when the bathroom door kept jamming was pretty absurd. It was nearly impossible to open or close. The rooms weren't clean either: dust on the sheets, cobwebs in the corners, and a dirty floor. The lighting was gloomy, and the building and corridors felt dark and dingy too. There was no human contact with the accommodation, and nobody was available from 8pm to 10am. Definitely not worth the money. There are much better options in Como.

They even thought of USB ports beside the bed, which saved us when we realized we'd forgotten our travel adaptor. The room had everything we needed, including a lovely bathroom, a roomy shower and a really comfortable bed. It was beautifully decorated and tucked into a quiet courtyard right in central Como. Each day we also got a complimentary coffee and croissant at a nearby cafe full of locals.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our room was spacious and in a peaceful spot right in the city center. It was clean, though some used soap had been left in the shower.
