My family’s stay at Casale Torre San Magno in Corato was disastrous. We paid more than we should have and didn’t even get an apology. The orange juice at breakfast was sour, and the other products were poor quality. The rooms are old and neglected, with missing light bulbs and little upkeep, but the bigger problem was safety and care. I had booked an apartment with a kitchen. When my family tried to use it, the kitchen tap broke off and left gas flowing. We called the owner right away. He told us to shut off the gas at the main switch, then refused to come fix it because he was “busy with a party.” We were left without help in a dangerous situation until the next day. When I called again 12 hours later to ask what he planned to do, he arrogantly said he “wasn’t a caregiver for my parents.” We left the next morning. Avoid this place. I absolutely don’t recommend it. Be cautious and read reviews online before booking, especially on sites like Booking, where others have mentioned similar issues.

We spent a week here at the beginning of October and had a very good time, with lots of sightseeing in the area. The B&B is roughly in the middle of Puglia. The rooms are a good size and the beds were fine. The only thing keeping our rating between four and five stars is that all the rooms have only skylights, so there’s no view out of a regular window. The family were wonderfully hospitable, breakfast had a very good and wide selection, and dinner was far beyond what we expected, with a tasty bottle of wine too. For the food and hospitality, considering the value for money, we’d give five stars.

We went for dinner as a group of 10, and the owners of Casale Torre San Magno welcomed us warmly and happily. The focaccia was the best, and there were lots of other great dishes too. The dining room has a quaint feel. The bed and breakfast sits on a secluded farm in Corato, Puglia. I got to see a couple of unoccupied state rooms, and they looked beautiful and comfortable, mixing the rustic farmhouse feel with classical-style furniture. I’d definitely recommend friends go for dinner, and I can’t wait to return for an overnight stay.
