Agriturismo Malena

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a view of the Calabrian mountains. At Agriturismo Malena, the pool, restaurant, and breakfast area are separate from the guest rooms. It’s easy to reach in the Rossano hinterland and makes a relaxing base. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and tried to accommodate every request. Breakfast was delicious. A great place to recharge body and mind, highly recommended.

The pool, with music playing in the background, was a lovely spot to relax. The rooms were clean, the food was excellent, and the chef deserves applause. What stayed with me most was how kind and helpful everyone was. The people running the Malena farmhouse and the staff welcomed us like family, and were always ready to help, even with small problems. If you want quiet and nature and a proper chance to unwind, I’d recommend a vacation here.

We needed a break after a year of work and couldn’t have picked a better place. We stayed here as a couple, among the olive trees, with geese wandering freely. The big pool was set in lawns with loungers, large umbrellas, and showers, and everything was cared for down to the details. Our room was spacious, furnished with antiques, and had a fireplace, though of course we didn’t use it in August. Breakfast was served outdoors by the pool, and the coleslaw was excellent. For lunch, we just had to let them know that morning, and that was excellent too. The owners and staff were so kind. On my last morning, they gave me a jar of honey they had made themselves. I could keep going, but I think I’ve covered it all.

The garden and pool area were fantastic and beautifully lit, and the whole property was spotless. There’s secure parking, and the rooms felt almost like a royal court, with great beds, plenty of space, and top-level cleanliness. It’s also easy to get to nearby roads and places, with no traffic trouble. Pierfrancesco welcomed us so well, showed us around the estate and explained the area, then made us some outstanding cocktails. The cook was away sick, so we couldn’t try the homemade pastries, but Pierfrancesco made an excellent breakfast and kept us happily full. Since dinner wasn’t available for the same reason, he pointed us to some wonderful places just minutes away. A charming estate surrounded by nature. We’d absolutely return, highly recommended!
