Hotel Park Village

So much lovely, well-kept greenery, gardens, and a pool, with a path inside the grounds leading close to the sea. The water was clean and the rooms spotless. We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely come back. Thanks for being so kind!

I’ve just returned, and I wouldn’t repeat this experience. The sea was the one wonderful thing, beautiful and very clean. The owner wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I spoke to her, and all they seemed to care about was money. Nothing was offered. It felt like a thoroughly unwelcoming place.

The sea was the only good part. The little apartment was outdated, had no amenities, and looked as if it hadn’t been maintained in ages. The rules don’t make check-in and check-out times clear, and the times listed differ from what you’re told on arrival. They aren’t followed either, which causes problems for people leaving. I gave notice and respected the departure time, but still had to wait for the owner to inspect the apartment’s cleanliness and condition before I got my keys and deposit back. We paid for the beach loungers, yet at night we weren’t allowed to use them to watch the shooting stars, and were literally thrown out. The owner showed no manners. The whole thing felt like a rip-off.

We stayed for two days at this 4-star hotel. The property is large and well kept, the pool is lovely, and it’s 400m from the sea. There’s entertainment when it doesn’t rain. Value for money was a weak point. The website doesn’t say swimming caps are required, so you have to buy them there or bring your own. They don’t provide them. With five of us, that was money we could’ve saved. They gave me a large cap for the child, and we only noticed after opening it. They wouldn’t replace it, so we would have had to buy another. On arrival there was nobody around. Someone appeared ten minutes later and showed us reception, maybe the receptionist or the owner, I don’t know. A sign on the door would have helped. The room was small and basic, but manageable for five people over two nights. Breakfast runs from 8 to 9:30. They could easily extend it to 10, or even 11 if they wanted to stretch. The B&B food was poor quality: stale bread that morning, pale ham, and disposable cutlery, glasses, and paper plates. I remembered this being a 4-star place. In the evening they go to a pizzeria near the sea, or maybe it belongs to them. It was hard to make sense of. The little hut seemed closed, with no waiters. The owner, I think, was elderly and yelling at the pizza chef for being slow and distracted while he had to make and serve the pizzas. Maybe they were mother and son, I couldn’t tell, but the tension was obvious. The place looked like anything but a pizzeria.
