Agriturismo Gallo

The setting above Cortemilia is gorgeous, and the grounds are beautifully kept. We came with our five-year-old twins and found it easy to relax: they felt safe, got on with the other children, and we could enjoy dinner, wine and the sunsets. Meals were delicious, with a real sense of community around the table. Carmen makes the place feel warm and familial. Vivi and Merle, the childcarers from Bambino Tours, were wonderful too. We'd love to return to Gallo.

I made it back in 2023 and was happy to find the place even more beautiful and wonderful after covid. On my earlier visit I went truffle hunting, then had a candlelit dinner in the cellar that blew my mind. The food is off the charts, the views are amazing, and the hosts are super nice. The rooms are beautiful, and English, Spanish, Italian and German are all spoken fluently. I'm planning another trip this year. If you're going to Italy, this is a must-see place to stay.

My stay with the Gallos when I was 17 is still one of the happiest times in my life. I'm nearly 50 now, and it's lovely to see them still welcoming guests and sharing their food and experience. They work incredibly hard and are such loving people. The Gallo farm is about the people and the food, not hotel polish. The sheets may not be the cleanest you've ever had, so if that's important to you, this may not be your place. But I had the best bread, pasta and meat, along with all the good feelings that come with that kind of experience. I also met a truly original cast of characters, from the town Romeo to the town drunk, and that made it unforgettable. Visiting them is an honor.

Our dog loved the huge garden, and we felt very welcome. The view is amazing too. We had a really nice stay, with good food and wine.
