Carlo asked whether we'd like to join him for a banquet that night, and what a surprise it turned out to be: he's a world-renowned chef. We had dietary requirements, and he prepared a magnificent banquet with printed menus personalized for us. The staff were attentive and skilled. The property is lovely, with a large, warm pool in a pretty garden. We stayed at Villa San Carlo as part of an accommodation package with a self-guided walking tour in Piemonte. Carlo was welcoming and informative, and we loved Villa San Carlo.

Chef Carlo made our vacation with his charming hospitality. He's a gracious host, full of stories, and the meals were unbelievably good, with wine pairings that couldn't be beaten. And then he sat down at the piano... 🥹🥹🥹❤️ What a wonderful stay at his villa.

We came for three days and liked it so much we booked an extra night. The owner, Carlo, is a natural host as well as a well-renowned chef. We chose his five-course gourmet dinner for EUR 54 per person, and it became seven courses with a little appetizer at the start and treats with the coffee. The flavors were amazing. The risotto was the best dish I've ever tasted. Carlo knows a lot about wine, though we're not very into it, so we just had one glass. I'm a food buff, and this meal was great. I also bought Carlo's book, which has the dinner recipes. The rooms are classic rather than modern, but clean and spacious. Ours had a balcony, small fridge and water cooker. There's a pool too. We were the only ones using it during our three days, so it almost felt private. Cortemilia is a nice little town, and we happened to visit during its yearly hazelnut festival, a fun event with lots of people around. The place, pool, food and especially the hospitality all deserved five stars. ❤

The regional cucina is top notch, with an extensive wine list from the area, and there's a nice swimming pool. The staff are very hospitable and friendly, and speak good English. Rooms are clean, though a little dated. We can recommend a stay.

A typical Italian family hotel, with great service and a nice swimming pool. Breakfast is good, with a nice variety to choose from. The host is really nice and is also the restaurant's chef. We had a great stay.
