Hotel Al Larin

We drove from Venice and arrived almost at midnight, when everything was closed. A sign said to call the number listed in case of emergency. My wife called, and the man who answered said he’d waited until 9 pm and that check-in should have been before 8 pm. He said they’d emailed the check-in time, though somehow my wife hadn’t received it. Even so, he opened the hotel and checked us into a room, saying he’d give us one with a good view. I wasn’t sure, since we’d missed the allowed check-in time, but the next morning I opened the curtains and stepped onto the veranda to an astonishing view of the Dolomite. He really did give us a room with an awesome view. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Al Larin, and the free breakfast was awesome too. My wife and I will definitely recommend it.

For the price, this was one of the cheapest rooms I could find in the area, and the basic room was good enough. I got a balcony with an extremely beautiful view, but it was right by a busy road and very noisy. I had to shut the door to sleep. That wasn’t a huge problem in early June, when it wasn’t too hot. Everything else was fine, though the coffee could be better.

The street outside was very loud, and there was no air circulation. We had to open the windows for air, which meant dealing with noise and exhaust smells. The place felt extremely old, from the carpets to the dusty tea kettle and plastic mugs. There were no amenities, no staff around, and it was out of town. It was super expensive for all that. This was the worst hotel of our trip, and I wish I’d paid more to stay somewhere better. Everything in cortina is so expensive, but the price here felt like robbery. We left after one night. The picture shows about what to expect and is next to the bed. I’ll never go back to cortina; other places are better.

I’m usually someone who never leaves bad reviews, but this was unacceptable. I’d already raised my concern that the deposit might not go through because my card was locked during the period when it was due. The hotel acknowledged receiving the charge and confirmed the booking. On check-in day, I paid the full amount again, thinking the deposit would be refunded. My card was charged twice. I emailed asking them to reverse the extra charge and have been ignored for 1.5 months and counting. Please acknowledge my email. I’ve reported you for fraud.
