The balcony view we paid for was mostly of construction. The location itself was nice, but hotel staff had no suggestions beyond their own restaurant. Breakfast was frustrating too. We waited nearly 30 minutes to be greeted, then I had to ask for a cappuccino while the workers were busy chatting or occupied at the bar. There’s no AC in the room. The fan came with an extension cord that barely reached two people in bed, and the concierge spent half an hour coming in and out trying to find a longer cord. It was almost 82 degrees each night. We were told to open the window, but bees were flying around outside and I didn’t want to get stung. They also refused to provide a second fan. Someone walked through our room with dirty shoes, and because we declined housekeeping on the second day, our water wasn’t replenished. When we asked downstairs for a bottle, they charged us for it. Penny pinchers. At check-in, nobody mentioned that you need to reserve a seat in the spa. I was told to come back later because they were filming and nobody could use it. They said I could go in right then if I paid for a treatment. Penny pinchers. It felt like they cared more about bringing in new customers than looking after the guests already paying to stay there.

We stayed two nights last October and had a lovely time. The hotel feels new, and it’s beautiful, clean, cozy, and welcoming. At reception we were greeted warmly, and our spacious, comfortable room was thoughtfully equipped, including a Dyson hair dryer. We heard the spa was expected to open soon, which sounded exciting. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel one evening, and on another, the staff recommended a nearby restaurant that turned out to be an excellent choice. There was some renovation work around the hotel during our stay, which was disappointing at times, so I’d check ahead about any work in progress. We’d happily return.

Casa G is a nice hotel overall, with good amenities, a new feel, and a beautiful setting. But our two-night visit was let down by the service. Seven of us had dinner at the restaurant on the first night, and the food was really substandard. Two dishes were badly cooked; we mentioned it to the service crew, who didn’t seem to care. There was also a mistake with the charges before we left. The reception team were impolite and indifferent to service standards. After we posted a Google review, the reply was arrogant and showed no sign of accepting that they might have done anything wrong. How can a hospitality provider be so indifferent to service? It brings shame to beautiful Italy. They need to replace the service crew.

The staff were a delight, especially the wait staff. They were so friendly and helpful, and their wine pouring technique alone will blow you away. The food was great too. The rooms are gorgeous, with jaw-dropping views. Everything here is 10/10, and I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Dinner was exquisite: the scallop carpaccio, tortelli cacio e pepe, and filetto di manzo danese scottato were all phenomenal. I ordered tiramisù to my room afterward. I initially felt bad asking while the staff were so busy, but it was easily the best I’ve had. The hotel itself is beautiful, with rich natural wood and elegant stone, especially in the stunning bathrooms. The details are high quality, from the light switches to the bedframes. Staff were attentive and friendly. My shower had a small issue before I went skiing, and it was fixed perfectly by the time I got back. A real gem. I’ll be back.
