It’s a quiet, secluded place out in the countryside. The rooms weren’t exactly spotless, though. I really liked the warm atmosphere, fireplace and Arte Povera-style furnishings, which give the place a distinctive feeling of peace.
The 13th-century house is split into two apartments: one has three double bedrooms; the other has two double rooms, a triple room, and two extra beds in the adjoining living room. The kitchen has a reasonable amount of equipment, though I would’ve liked an electric kettle and slightly smaller pots. The pool measures 10m x 5m and has plenty of sun loungers. It was easy to get in touch with the owner, who lives nearby and speaks English. Such an atmospheric place, and the most memorable holiday spot I’ve found. Quintessential Tuscany!
We came as three families and had a wonderful time. The pool area was spotless and surrounded by greenery, and Marco was incredibly kind, making us feel at home right away. The house is wonderful and ancient, with artifacts that tell the story of a life lived there. Highly recommended.
There was room for all 12 of us to have our own space, and the house was clean. The gardens were beautiful and well looked after, and the house had a lovely atmosphere. We had perfect weather for relaxing and sightseeing around the turn of August and September. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
The pool is lovely, well kept and well equipped, and the place is peaceful and surrounded by greenery. Some of the facilities need better care, and maintenance is a bit lacking. It’s a shame, though I understand that improving everything would mean higher rates.
