Here's what happened to us. My girlfriend and I booked a night through their website at a fairly high price and arrived shortly after 1 p.m. We rang the bell for about fifteen minutes with no answer, even though we could hear it from the street, so we went to get lunch. While we were away, I emailed and eventually got a reply arranging check-in around 3 p.m. When we returned, after spending half the day walking around with our suitcases in the blazing sun, we were told our room wasn't available. Apparently Booking.com and the property's website had a coordination error, and the room had already been given to someone else. They offered us a child's room for €150, with toys still on the floor and stuffed animals on the bed. The room seemed unprofessional and too expensive, and since we'd been out for lunch, there had been time to clean and tidy it. We left. The overbooking could have been prevented, or at least they could have emailed or called to cancel before we arrived, instead of leaving us outside with no answer. Next door we found a reputable hotel that welcomed us and treated us with great respect.

For €2, you can visit the cloister and Michelangelo's Christ Church, and I think it's worth the price. Give the church a proper look, since seeing the altars takes about an hour.
