Villa I Cocciai

We’ve really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, well-kept villa, full of sweet Italian charm. The owners’ photos don’t come close to capturing the view. The pool was a much-appreciated bonus in the heat wave, and the owners were very involved, even bringing us delicious chocolate croissants. 10/10.

There’s clearly been a lot of thought put into this place. It’s clean and quiet, with a beautifully landscaped garden and lots of places to sit outside. It’s also only about 500 meters from the center, and the kitchen has everything you need, especially utensils. In short, perfect. The service was top-notch!

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa i Cocciai, and we’ll be back. The house was spotless when we arrived, thoughtfully furnished, and supplied with the basics, including bin bags, soaps, tea towels, and dishwasher tablets. The family even made coffee for us. Elisabetta was attentive throughout, surprising us with things like fresh brioche in the morning. After a week, the beds were made with fresh linen and the towels changed. There’s plenty of space and complete privacy across the property. The pool was fantastic in the summer heat, cleaned each morning at dawn. From the villa, the views over the valley and Lake Trasimeno are breathtaking at any hour, day or night. The old town of Cortona is just a short walk away, and Florence, Siena, Arezzo, and Montepulciano are easy to reach by car. A trip to either the Mediterranean or Adriatic is also highly recommended. Back in 1997, a friend and I spent a month there during the winter while taking a training course on multimedia applied to cultural heritage. It was my first time staying in Cortona, and although there was no pool yet, we had a lovely time and came away with so many good memories.
