GHV Hotel

We’d definitely return. The room was clean, I loved the amenities, and I thought we got really good value for what we paid. Housekeeping came every day to clean and change the towels. The downsides were that sunbeds cost extra on the weekend, even though hardly anyone was at the pool, and breakfast didn’t offer much variety. There was only one egg option, scrambled, every day. It’d be better if they changed the type of eggs from day to day.

We booked nine rooms and were told to email to get around 10% off the actual price. Instead, the offer we received was worse than the price listed on Booking, despite the platform’s commission, and the conditions were even worse. When I pointed that out, they raised the prices on Booking. The booking process took a full five days because replies were very slow. I had to call several times and was already getting angry with the staff. They were unprofessional and made little effort to understand what guests needed or requested. I asked several times to speak to the manager, but he was always “unavailable.” I was left dealing with employees who only relayed his words. I was supposed to get a call back, but nearly a week later I’d been completely ghosted. The hotel itself is nice, but the service is more like a 2-star place than a 4-star one. Simply bad.

The location worked well for getting to Vicenza, Venice, and Verona, each around 50 km away, and there are shops and a pharmacy close by. I stayed here on a business trip and found the hotel newly renovated, beautifully designed, and very welcoming, with a lovely Italian feel. My suite had lots of storage, a roomy, comfortable bed, and plenty of space. It was so quiet and restful, and everything was very clean. The bathroom had been renovated too, and I liked that the towels were replaced every day. Breakfast had pretty much everything you need to start the day. The coffee came from a big machine, though, and didn’t quite meet the usual Italian standard. I’d happily recommend the hotel for a short visit or a longer stay.

There were dead bugs in our Negroni when we ordered at the bar. The staff laughed it off and said that was normal, as if bottle caps didn’t exist to keep them out. They said the drinks were on them, but we’d already paid. Thanks for nothing.
