Camping Villaggio Calypso

The village facilities were all exceptionally well maintained, from the dog park with its little agility course to the pool slide my son loved. Everyone seemed to enjoy the daily beach volleyball tournaments, too. The activities were thoughtfully planned and well run, and my son especially enjoyed making pasta with the restaurant chef. We had the pleasure of staying at the Calypso this summer, and met the owner, who is the very picture of Italian hospitality. When the holiday ended, it was hard to leave our new friends and say goodbye to the excellent, friendly staff. Special thanks to Alice and Thomas.

The campsite restaurant served excellent food, and the facilities were clean and modern. We spent a lovely week in our tent here. In early May it was quiet, the beach was clean and the water clear, so our dog could play in the sea and run on the sand. The trains passing by might bother light sleepers, but we got used to the noise quickly. A real coastal treasure.

I’d never stayed somewhere like this before, and I came away hugely impressed. There’s a shop for supplies, and the restaurant serves really good food at a reasonable price. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the site is kept very clean, including the many toilets and showers. Families, couples and friends all seem well catered for, with activities for adults and kids, plus a pool with a slide beside a great play area. You can choose anything from a pitch for a car or caravan, with power and shade, to one of the lovely cabins, which look far too nice to call cabins. The toilet, shower and laundry facilities are great too. Five stars doesn’t cover it, I’d give it 10/10 and will definitely be back 😀😀😀.

We booked breakfast, and it was generous and tasty. Our spacious house had a little terrace and was close to the beach. We had a very good stay and will come back.
