La Girandola

We spent two nights here during the August holiday and found a wonderfully peaceful B&B in the hills of Poggio Cupro. It’s only a few kilometers from Cupramontana and close to lots of places to visit, including the Frasassi Caves and Fabriano. The Paper and Watermark Museum in Fabriano is well worth a visit. Isabelle and Erik welcomed us warmly and were happy to suggest outings or somewhere to eat. Our room was Montessori, overlooking the back garden. Outside there’s a big lawn with tables, loungers, and hammocks, plus a pool with a beautiful view across the hills. Breakfast is served in the former manger, where we also enjoyed pleasant conversations with our hosts. Dogs are welcome. A great choice if you want to slow down and relax.

We stayed in the Leopardi room, which was small but really cozy. It was missing a bidet, a tragedy for the average Italian, but I managed 😂. Breakfast was simple and good, though not especially abundant. The owners were incredibly friendly, and this place has the quiet, familiar feeling I love, something that's hard to find in a regular hotel. It's also a handy base for reaching almost all the main sights. Highly recommended.

For €79 a night, you get a quiet, secluded corner with just a few people around, a small pool, and a breathtaking view. The owners, who are Belgian and Dutch, were friendly and courteous, and made an excellent breakfast with their own jams. The B&B also has Wi-Fi and parking. Such a beautiful place.

We had a wonderful holiday with our daughter in Isabelle and Erik’s apartment. What a lovely place, and such a beautiful apartment! It felt like a truly authentic little piece of Italy ♡
