Baglio Giammaccaro

The gardens around Baglio Giammaccaro are beautifully laid out, with tucked-away spots where you can sit and read or relax. Each window, table, and seating area seems to frame a different view, and the hotel sits idyllically at the foot of a mountain. We had a fantastic September stay. There are only a few rooms, maybe 5 or 6, and breakfast was delicious. Stefano and Joseph were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Their hospitality made this one of our favourite hotel stays. We'd go back any day.

The hosts, Stefano and Joseph, were warm, charming, and so helpful. The home-cooked breakfast was lovely, too. We stayed in the upstairs room with the balcony, and had beautiful gardens, a pool, and views to enjoy. With only five rooms and no neighbours, it's peaceful and relaxing. I was excited to visit in July 2025 after reading all the five-star reviews, and the place lived up to them. It was easily the best accommodation of our five weeks in Italy, while visiting from Australia. I can't recommend it highly enough and hope I can return one day. I'd suggest renting a car for the roughly 90-minute drive from Palermo airport and the short trips to nearby restaurants and beaches.

We arrived as guests and left feeling we'd made new friends. We're already working out when to come back. Those few days were wonderful. Breakfast was a treat: Stefano made fruit salad, eggs freshly laid by their own hens, and cake. The nearby area has two national parks for walking, cycling, and swimming at beautiful little beaches. In Castelluzzo, we enjoyed the three main restaurants, all very local, and one evening brought pizza back to the Baglio with a bottle of red wine to watch the sunset. Stefano welcomed us, showed us the gardens, pool, Jacuzzi, and quiet places to relax, and shared plenty of ideas for exploring locally. Joseph has thought through the design of the gardens and Baglio down to the smallest details. We kept wandering around to look at the plants, herbs, and stunning scenery. The hosts were so welcoming and generous, and the setting felt like stepping into another world of calm. What a lovely find. You won't want to leave!

The gardens are the highlight, so beautifully designed, and the architecture fits right in with the scenery. The rooms were spacious, clean, and just right. Stefano and Joseph were fun, welcoming, and kind hosts. A stunning B&B in a beautiful setting, and they have dogs too! Highly recommend.
