La Luna Nel Pozzo

After two short but intense stays, I’m already sure I’ll be back. The setting is spectacular, and there’s such peace and calm that it’s hard to leave. I loved the welcome, the cleanliness, the tasteful decor, and how much care went into every detail. So much love in the place. Thank you, Catia, you loving soul.

The breakfast was a real highlight: homemade cakes, milk hot or cold, coffee, tea, juices, fresh cut fruit, yogurt, fructose, honey, jams, cereals, Nutella, and PANE CUNZATU. We’d had a sweet breakfast and skipped the pane cunzato, but Giuseppe noticed and wrapped up two pieces for us to try. They became our lunch. The charming, clean veranda on the top floor has a wooden canopy and a lovely view. Giuseppe is attentive and easy to talk to, and made himself available from the start without being pushy. He offered us drinks, we had juice, and showed us the kitchen area, where there was a fridge with water if we needed it. Our room was very large and spotless, with A/C, satellite TV, clean towels and sheets, new furniture and fixtures, and balconies off both the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was large and new, with a window and a faucet that worked perfectly. Everything was provided. The B&B is beautiful and sits on a quiet street with a stunning view of the Erice/Monte Cofano coastline. There aren’t many houses nearby, so you can undress comfortably even with the window open. Custonaci is a lovely village that’s growing, well placed between San Vito and Trapani and near Baia Santa Margherita. We gave top marks for everything for the first time. The price was excellent, and we paid very little for all of this. Checkout was straightforward, with everything in order and the invoice in hand, though we were nearly sad to leave. Giuseppe is discreet but always ready with advice on beaches, places to visit, and restaurants. It felt like having a tour operator included in the price, and I’ll definitely recommend the B&B to anyone visiting the area. The property is new, very clean, and has every comfort, in a handy spot for the sea, nearby towns, and archaeological sites. Our spacious room had two balconies, a window in the bathroom, and a hairdryer. Breakfast on the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, Erice, and the Monte Cofano nature reserve was a treat: homemade cakes, moka coffee, and pane cunzato, which often became our packed lunch for the beach.

Mr. Giuseppe is a delightful, friendly, and helpful host, and the breakfasts were superb, with delicious homemade cakes, fresh fruit, and plenty more. It’s a fantastic place for a few days in the area, just steps from the Cornino beaches. The rooms are modern and have every comfort.
