The room at Rizzi Acqua Charme Hotel felt like a rip-off for €120 a night. They call it “standard,” but two people can barely move in the cramped space. I’d guess it’s less than 9 square meters, and the tiny bathroom door hits the shower. The whole setup feels claustrophobic. Hard to believe this is what a 4-star property offers. Right next door, Hotel Sorriso costs €76 and is family-run. Its rooms are larger and better, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It doesn’t have a pool, but the fantastic thermal spa nearby makes that unimportant. The Sorriso has charm and value, while my stay at Rizzi was overpriced, undersized, and disappointing. If you’re considering Rizzi, book the Sorriso instead. You’ll save money and avoid the disappointment.

The service was great, and the hotel was very good in general. But the AC wasn’t working properly, so the room stayed too warm and we struggled to sleep. The breakfast buffet also fell short of what we expected, with most of the food gone by 8 am.

Room: 3-star. Breakfast and price were average. The parking was a bit tight, with limited spaces, though not too bad. Staff were very nice and friendly!

The hotel is fine and the rooms are OK, though it feels like its best years were in the 80ties/90ties. The desk staff and most of the others were nice. We ran into an issue when our group of 7 wanted to sit together at one table for breakfast. We Germans weren't allowed, while similar Italian groups apparently had no problem. Breakfast itself was OK, just don't expect too much.

I had a wonderful week at Rizzi. The staff treated me like royalty and helped whenever I needed it, and the food was very good for a very low price. The rooms were clean, and the hotel is just a few steps from the terme, train station, and bus station. Thanks to the staff. I'll be back. Cheers, Anton.
