La Corte di Nonna Gemma

The staff and owners are so welcoming and polite that you feel at home, not like you're staying in a B&B. La Corte di Nonna Gemma is also great value compared with similar places, and I'll definitely come back. My room was huge, with high ceilings and two skylights, including one in the bathroom. The big glass doors let in lots of light and fresh air, and I was glad to have the air conditioning on every night when it was hot. The cleaning was excellent, and breakfast was practically all-you-can-eat. Just ask if you'd like an American breakfast. There's free parking a minute away, shops and the train station within walking distance, and it's quiet at night with fast Wi-Fi.

We had a great base for relaxing and exploring the mountains and Lake Como, with astounding views all around. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. The homemade cakes were especially good. A fantastic B&B in every way.

There were nine of us, and the owners made us feel very welcome. They arranged four very large rooms, each with its own bathroom, shower, and sitting area. We're so grateful they hosted us, and hope to see them next time.

Maura was so kind, and suggested places to visit nearby. She also made us a delicious Valtellina breakfast. We stayed in a lovely little wooden room in the mountains, cozy and with a mezzanine bed. There's a skylight in the mezzanine roof for looking at the stars, and it can be shut automatically. Maybe we'll come back in spring.
