The pool area and kids' entertainment are top notch, and the staff are really friendly and familiar despite this being a very large complex. It's a great spot for families. The caravan and RV pitches are pretty nice, though they can get muddy. The on-site restaurants are decent too, but it's strange that none of the dishes come with sauce. Camper service is included apart from black water. They have machines for that which cost just €2, and I'd happily pay rather than risk getting splashed.

We just got back from 10 days in a Family Mobile Home, and we'd definitely come back. The caravans are small but spotless and laid out nicely, and our kids loved ours. The whole campsite is extremely clean and well cared for. Pools were excellent for young children and never seemed too busy, so we could find a bed at any time. The entertainment team was amazing, and the kids loved the weekly musical shows performed by the children and the team. We went out to different places around the lake every night, but one of our best meals was at the campsite restaurant. The shop bakery was top notch too, especially the chocolate croissants.

The pool was really cold, and although San Francesco is a very good campsite, it felt a little pricey. The grounds are well kept and hygienic, and we loved staying in the yellow area. We first had a pitch by the garbage dump, but luckily we could upgrade. The staff were friendly and easygoing, and Sirmione is close by for exploring. We came for the second year running, staying three nights the first time and seven the next. Seven nights turned out to be too long for us and we got a bit restless. I think three or maybe four nights is about right, though I guess that depends on the person. One other thing: Italy, support your women’s football! The European championship was on while we were there, and Italy was playing, but it was hard to find anywhere showing the matches. Most people didn’t even know the event was happening.

The pitches can get muddy when it rains, but otherwise we had a good stay at this lakeside site. There’s a dog exercise area, plus a separate sunbathing spot beside the pool for people and their furry friends. The restaurant was great, reasonably priced, and staffed by friendly people. Valerie deserves a mention. She checked us in with lots of useful information, and whenever we ran into her after that, she was smiling and happy to chat.

We loved this campsite and are already looking forward to coming back. It was surprisingly affordable, with large pitches and plenty of space. If you visit in the busy season, get there early so you can avoid ending up on a sloping pitch. The lake and mountain views are magnificent, and the sunsets were incredible. We stayed in our motorhome among lots of trees, and the site felt really pretty. The washrooms were spacious, modern, and very clean. The restaurant and shop were both brilliant. The woman at reception was delightful and helpful, though the young men working at another time were less so.
