Hotel Tripoli

We booked the first-floor family room for four, and it had two balconies overlooking the lake. Probably the best rooms. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms looked very modern. With the windows open, it was loud for much of the day, but closing them kept the noise from being a bother. The room fragrance sprayed by housekeeping was very strong, though it may not bother you if you’re not sensitive to it. The front desk staff spoke enough English to get by, and the casual, family-like atmosphere was great. We skipped breakfast but liked being able to grab espressos at the cafe downstairs.

We wanted somewhere to unwind after five days in Venice and Verona, and this hotel and town worked well for that. The area is beautiful, and we took a small boat from the harbour to Sirmione. It costs a bit more than the big ferry, but the ride was much more beautiful. If you’re driving, pull up outside, get a permit, then use the underground parking they offer, about a 7-minute walk away. It lets you relax. We’d definitely come back and enjoy the Italian vibe again.

A small hotel with lots of quality details and a bar out front. It’s right in the heart of Desenzano, and everything was great. The staff were extremely kind, especially lady Tina and the young owner, I assume, at reception. Our room was comfortable and so clean that it passed the white socks test. Breakfast was very good too. We recommend it and will return. Ivana, Zoran and baby Kai D.

The room stayed warm even with the AC turned up high, but I’d expect that in Italy, so I’m not holding it against them. I had a great stay and would go back 100%. In my opinion, it’s the BEST hotel in Desenzano. The views and the staff make it special. Momo and the rest of the team are top notch.
