We paid extra to change rooms and the difference was worth it: the new one had a lake view, a jacuzzi, and 24 square metres of space. The room we first booked for our week in August was only 12 square metres and looked out at some trees.

We paid extra to change rooms and the difference was worth it: the new one had a lake view, a jacuzzi, and 24 square metres of space. The room we first booked for our week in August was only 12 square metres and looked out at some trees.

There were so many attractions nearby, and having a laundromat just 200 metres away came in handy after 20 days of travelling. I’d suggest staying in the area for 3-4 days to fit in the tourist sights and activities. Great location, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
The room was tiny and very basic, and reception did nothing to help when I complained. They wouldn’t let me speak with a manager or give me a phone number or email address. We weren’t told there was an indoor pool, or that using it would cost extra. The toilets by the pool were filthy, and it was very noisy at night. I won’t come back.
Renting bikes for the day was a highlight. We took e-bikes around the area and went to a tourist spot where parking looked pretty difficult. Staff showed us how to use them, which was simple. Bring a backpack for shopping or other things you need. The outdoor pool was a bit cold, but that was fine, and we had it to ourselves when we went later in the day. Breakfast had lots of options. Lunch is available too, and I spotted lasagna on the menu that I wish I’d tried, but we were out all day. The room’s air cooling worked well, which matters a lot to me when choosing a hotel, and even using the sauna didn’t bother it. We had bathrobes and slippers. The room felt a little small at times, mostly because there wasn’t much surface space for toiletries. With enough use, water seems to cause problems in the bathroom, and I’d already noticed some on the wooden door frame. I don’t remember hearing any loud noises that bothered me. The road outside had fairly busy, fast traffic, but the balcony door blocked it well. The sauna cubicle was fun, though your feet don’t really get warm down there, haha. My travelling companion enjoyed the bathtub/jacuzzi.
The beach was close by, and it took about a 20-minute walk to reach the centre of Desenzano del Garda. We had a clean, roomy-enough space with a large bed, a nice shower and air conditioning. The outdoor pool area was pleasant, with a tuck bar, and breakfast was good. The pina coladas were amazing.
