Park Hotel

The reception, lounge, and dining area were immaculate and well presented, but the room was in disrepair and felt like a two-star room in a four-star hotel. We raised the problems with the hotel and travel agent and were told it was fully booked, so we couldn't move. Yet rooms appeared bookable on the hotel's own website. Our room at the Park Hotel was tiny, with barely space to get beside the small double bed. A single chair and footstool left no room to pass at the foot of the bed if moved from their places. The bed was so firm it felt like a wooden platform with a blanket on top. Bedside lights flickered, the advertised English TV channels didn't work, and there was peeling wallpaper in several spots. Repairs had been filled and painted white, which stood out against the textured cream wallpaper. The bathroom ceiling paint was peeling, the shower pressure was pitiful, and a broken tile at the small bathroom entrance step left a sharp edge exposed. There were no sockets by the bed, and the only one in the room was by the kettle near the door. There was tea but no coffee-making setup, which surprised us in Italy. The promised city view was just the opposite building's roof and the street below. We only had breakfast at the restaurant and didn't use the pool. We did look at the pool area, which had a small pool and 20 tightly packed deck chairs. We wouldn't recommend this hotel for a stay in Desenzano.

The hotel restaurant was fantastic, and the staff were great. They handled my very late reservation after a mixup on my end, and were helpful and professional.

Breakfast was delicious and served in a very hygienic setting, and everything was clean and well organized. The hotel sits right by the lake in a beautiful, central spot. The standout for me was the cleanliness and service. Boni S. at reception was especially welcoming, always smiling, very helpful, and professional. A perfect hotel in every way, highly recommend it.

On our first trip to Italy, we found a gem of a hotel. The breakfast had a wonderful choice, and the afternoon coffee and tea were excellent. Our lake-view room on the first floor had a balcony, was spotless on arrival, and was serviced perfectly each day. Across our seven days, everyone from the room maid and head waiter to the manager was cheerful and friendly. They knew the area well and offered plenty of places to visit and travel tips. The staff were attentive and helpful from the moment we arrived. We'd happily recommend the hotel and very much hope to return.
