AlpHoliday Dolomiti Wellness

The food was delicious and the rooms were comfortable. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and very helpful, whether in the spa, restaurant, at reception, or with cleaning. We enjoyed every second of our stay.

The fireplace lounge was the one place where we could relax comfortably, and it looked like the rest of the hotel we’d pictured from the website. The publicly accessible areas elsewhere felt closer to a 2-star hotel than a 4-star one, and the stairwells felt like a prison. The elevator also can’t be called, and when someone selects another floor, you can’t choose your own. The coffee machine kept asking to be cleaned. The food was disappointing too. Chicken was labelled as guinea fowl, and ordinary beef was described as wagyu. We felt deceived by the website photos, which showed the nicest part of the hotel and led us to expect the same look throughout. If we hadn’t been travelling with a group of friends, we would have changed hotels even if it meant losing our money. I don’t see this as a 4-star hotel, and I have no idea how it got that rating.

The location worked well for us, with a ski bus ride of about seven minutes to a nearby Gondola for the mountains. There’s also a ski rental shop in the hotel with good prices. It’s clean, family-friendly, and the staff are amazing and helpful. The mini-club staff are angels!

We had several problems with the room. The vacuum hole made a horrible noise from 7:30 every morning and kept waking us up. The toilet ran, and the double bed came apart overnight, leaving a gap between the beds after staff removed the extra mattress while cleaning on our second day. Reception wouldn’t come up to see the issues and promised everything would be fixed by evening. Only the toilet was fixed. When we raised the bed issue again, the receptionist spoke very rudely and arrogantly, insisting it had been fixed. The manager came up with us, saw it hadn’t, and asked a cleaner to sort it out. The vacuum noise was never fixed. We were refused any kind of compensation, not even a discount, despite raising all the problems.
