Appartamento La Motta

The service was very poor. The lady was unpleasant and insisted we order five plates even though we had small children who don’t eat much. Instead of bringing a “wine of the house,” she brought two expensive glasses of wine. I wouldn’t come back. I’d booked through The Fork, but the reservation was canceled after our visit, so I couldn’t leave an honest comment.

The quality was average, but it’s a bargain for what you get. For 18€, the daily menu gives you four courses: an appetizer, a pasta dish, meat with potatoes, and cake.

I’ve never felt so insulted or unwelcome in Italy. We paid 16 euros for four ravioli, or 4 euros each. The waitress was completely rude and said I couldn’t share plates with my girlfriend. We’d ordered one daily menu and that 16 euro plate, which cost 2 euros more than the whole menu. She made a scene in front of the other customers and made us feel like we’d done something wrong, even though we were paying more than we would for two menus. If my girlfriend doesn’t want to finish her plate, what are we supposed to do, throw the food away? It felt like an absolute rip-off. Never again. I should have paid attention to the other reviews like this.

Even one star is too much for this disgusting place. The risotto was the worst ever, and the white wine smelled old. Worst of all was the rude waitress, who said she was the owner. How can someone run a restaurant with no sense of service? I wish we’d read the comments first instead of wasting 88€.
